Competitive inhibition이랑 non-competitive inhibition 차이가 뭐야?
Key concept
A competitive inhibitor is structurally similar to the substrate, so it competes directly for the enzyme's active site. A non-competitive inhibitor binds elsewhere, at an allosteric site, and changes the enzyme's shape instead.
Common pattern
- Competitive: raising substrate concentration outcompetes the inhibitor, so the effect weakens. Vmax stays the same.
- Non-competitive: more substrate doesn't help, since the inhibitor isn't at the active site. Vmax decreases.

Questions usually test whether Vmax changes, so learn the two graph shapes alongside the mechanism, not just the definitions.
